Instructional youth lacrosse is open to Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders. The program runs from April 26 - June 10, (weather permitting).
This program will run Mondays & Wednesdays with the exception of the last week, running Tuesday & Thursday, June 8 & 10..
The kindergarten program is co-ed. This program will introduce players to the sport of lacrosse. The program will focus on stick skills (passing and catching). Players will need a stick and eye protection. Those who are 5 years old prior to the start of the program but not in kindergarten, are welcome.
1st & 2nd grade boys incorporate basic skills such as passing, catching, shooting and scooping. We will also be working on game skills and situations, but the primary focus will be on basic skill development and age-appropriate games. Players are responsible for providing their own equipment. Each player will need a boys stick and some type of eye protection. The eye protection can be a boys lacrosse helmet or girls lacrosse eye guards. Players may wear helmets, shoulder, elbow pads and gloves if they wish, but it is not necessary. The boys will need these pads when the move to the bantam program.
1st & 2nd grade girls lacrosse programs will incorporate basic skills such as passing, catching, shooting and scooping. We will also be working on game skills and situations, but the primary focus will be on basic skill development and age-appropriate games. Each player will need a girls lacrosse stick and some type of eye protection. Players are responsible for providing equipment, stick and goggles.

- There is no registration deadline for this program. You may register and join at anytime however this program will not be prorated.

- Nick St. George was a teacher and a coach in Longmeadow from 1986-2021
- Nick coached football from 1987-2018
- Longmeadow assistant lacrosse coach from 1990-1195
- Head lacrosse coach at Agawam High School 1996-2005
- As part of the program, players from the Belchertown Boys/Girls High School team serves as mentors and coaching players on their lacrosse skills.
