BELCHERTOWN RECREATION DEPARTMENT
BASEBALL
REGISTRATIONS
The Recreation Department’s objective of organized Baseball is
to TEACH THE GAME to players, instill attitudes of FAIR PLAY in all
players, promote GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP and TEAM PLAY and to IMPROVE
THE OVERALL SKILLS of the individual player.

Grade 3/4 Suburban -  division 60' diamond, pitching mound set at 46'. The goal
of the Suburban Baseball National League is to introduce 3rd and 4th grade
boys to live pitching, recognition of the strike zone, reinforcement of fundamental
skills in a competitive, yet age appropriate manner that increases the
players’ knowledge of baseball while still being FUN.
The season runs approx. end of April - mid June, playoffs ending June 30. Approx.
12 games.

Grade 5/6 Suburban division -  75' diamond, pitching mound set at 52'. The goal
of the Suburban Baseball Senior Division is to provide a competitive baseball
league stressing participation, sportsmanship, fun and development of skills for
boys in 5th and 6th grade. This league introduces kids to the next level of baseball
leading, balks, pitching from stretch, etc. The season runs approx. end of
April - mid June, playoffs ending June 30. Approx. 14 games.

Grade 7/8 Suburban Koufax division - plays on a 90' diamond, pitching mound
set at 60'6". The goal of the Suburban Baseball Koufax Division is to provide
the next level of competitive baseball, stressing participation, sportsmanship,
fun and development of skills for boys in 7th, 8th and 9th grade boys.
The season runs May 4 - June 23 and for those who make playoffs ending June
30. Approx. 14 games.
