  • Coach Jo's father signed her up for swimming at the age of 11 in Fort Leavenworth, KS and she quickly fell in love with sport. After about a year of swimming in Kansas her father, a soldier in the US Army, was stationed to Germany, where she continued her swimming career until the age of 18. Jo swam for a number of German teams, as well as teams in the European Forces Swim League (EFSL). While in Europe, Jo devoted her time to improving her swimming technique and getting faster. She was invited to be a demonstrator for multiple EFSL Coaching Seminars where she helped teach coaches proper techniques and drills to improve their swimmer's stroke. After Europe, Jo swam until her second year at Mary Baldwin College, when their team was disbanded. Swimming has been a big part of her life and she can't wait to share her knowledge and love for the sport with future swimmers.
