The Belchertown Shoshin Ryu Jujistu program is hosting its first community workshop and attendance is FREE. The skills are practical and work for EVERYONE, whether you are a man or woman, law enforcement officer or bank teller. Our goal is to provide tools to help people feel confident in themselves and their ability to avoid trouble and protect themselves or others should the need arise. In the same way a seat-belt protects you in a car and a fire extinguisher protects you from fire, we should all have a "tool-kit" with the skills needed to stay safe in a potentially dangerous situation.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: Water is recommended. Wear clothes that you can move in and are safe (no chains, studs, sensible shoes etc.)
Jared Lauziere is the Chief instructor. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in Shoshin Ryu Jujitsu with 19 years of experience in the art. He served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman and served the Obama administration along side U.S. Secret Service with the Marines aboard Camp David. The job provided a great deal of experience navigating and understanding social/asocial situations and how they could potentially turn violent, how to avoid these situations, and how to deal with them as they arise.
