12:30 PM - 1:30 PM    Dog Training - Socialization - Spring
Harmony Acres Personalized Dog TrainingSocialization/ obedience course, the dog should be about 5 mos. and under 2 years old. If you have not yet gone through my puppy private home training, we can catch them up in the first lesson.  They will learn the importance of participating in life manners and the basics of structure in public and basic skills of obedience. (Such as, sit, sit stay, auto sit, down, down stay, and auto down, the essence of heal, place, recall at 10 to 20 feet with distractions of the class watching them.)Tools needed will be a 4- or 5-foot leash, treats, a small fleece blanket for bedding, and a 20’ simple dog lead, NO RETRACTABLES Please. Young dog obedience/ handlers’ class, the dog should be at least 5 mos. old, and can be new to our training classes due to a new ownership, rescue, etc. This class will cover the basics of being a dog owner, for those that its been a while, a refresher is always good (whether it is the first time for our humans, or for the dog). We will be covering proper handling, dogs cycle development, and how they learn through movement, verbal communication, and body language. We will cover the importance of your dog learning how to engage with you, get the bond and respect to have a great relationship, along with the obedience basics of Sit, Down, Recall, Heal, and some other basic obedience and socialization skills that will benefit you in the new life with other dogs and humans.Tools needed will be a 4- or 5-foot leash, treats, a small fleece blanket for bedding, and a 20’ simple dog lead, NO RETRACTABLES Please. ..All the dogs will need proof of valid vaccinations, i.e. Parvo, Lepto/Lyme, and Rabies before participating in any group class.  ..Any dogs with a behavior/bite history, will need to be seen privately prior to attending a group session...If the dog comes into heat, or is intact at the time of the session, we will reschedule or discuss with the owners...I would also reserve the choice to disqualify a human or report a human for abuse, or neglect on any dog(s) attending classes with me.

Baton twirling is an excellent way of developing hand-eye coordination, rhythm, timing, endurance, self-discipline, and overall total body coordination. Classes involve all aspects of baton twirling from fundamental tricks to advanced competitive combinations. Experienced twirlers have the opportunity to join competitive teams. Baton Twirling is a sport that brings so many positives to our lives such as physical fitness, flexibility, friendship and so much more.   Tiny Tots - Classes are 30-minutes long for ages 3-5 years old and a great way for your kids to learn basic twirling skills, play games and most importantly have fun.  Intro to Twirling - Classes are 45-minutes long for ages 6 & up.  You will learn to spin, twirl and toss incorporating games in these exciting classes. Introduction to baton twirling will help children to develop eye hand coordination and learn tricks.    Competitive Twirlers - This program is for advanced twirlers who will continue to learn tricks and strengthen their skills.  Competitive Team twirlers will be assigned a scheduled time for group lessons.The instructor will contact Competitive Twirlers with specific class times.A Baton is needed and can be purchased from the instructor for a fee of $30.00Solo TwirlersExperienced baton twirlers who are interested in additional half hour individual lessons will be scheduled for solo classes on Sunday mornings.  The instructor will contact solo twirlers  with a specific time. At various levels of twirling, there is additional opportunity to perform and compete.

The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn and play, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.  Sneakers are required. Players registering for the first time are asked to register for the intro class.Introduction to PickleballThis four-week class is for those new to the game or for those who want more experience before moving onto the Beginner class. During this class participants will be introduced to basic rules, fundamentals of strokes, court positioning, and score keeping.    Level 1 - Beginner The beginner class will focus on basics of the game. Throughout the class participants will continue to improve on the rules of the game, strokes, learn to serve and expanding their knowledge of score keeping. Level 2 - Novice- Moves n a sale and balanced manner- Able to hit a forehand with direction- Hits backhand(not run around it), but not in a consistent manner- Can accurately place serve into correct area 75% of the time- Demonstrate proper court positioning- Able to accurately keep score- Able to volley with some direction- Understands basic rules (for example, two bounce rule, no volley zone)- Able to sustain short rallies Level 3 - Intermediate- Has good mobility, good hand-eye coordination and good quickness of hands and feet- Good stamina and/or physical conditioning-Able to sustain medium length rallies against other intermediate players- Has some understanding of pickleball strategy and successfully implements it at times-Able to hit forehands and backhands with direction- Able to sustain a dink rally- Able to volley opponent's drives with some consistency. - Attempts drop shots with occasional success- Often moves to non-volley zone with opportunity is there - Attempts overhead shots with some success, may not have proper technique- Aware of partners position on court.  Level 4 - Advanced Intermediate - Has very good pickleball footwork, very good mobility to cover the court, very good hand-eye coordination, as well as very good quickness for hands and feet.- Has very good stamina and physical conditioning- Sometimes plans and plays strategically at game speed- Able to sustain medium to long rallies against other Advanced Intermediate players - Able to use forehand and backhand with pace,control and consistency.  - Executes serve/return with ability to control depth and direction- Attempts drop shots and is often successful- Able to volley with some control- Able to dink with some control of height/depth and sustain medium length rallies- Moves to non-volley zone when opportunity is there- Able to hit an overhead with some success, utilizing proper technique- Aware of partner's position and communicates during play Level 5 - Advanced- Has excellent pickleball footwork, mobility and hand-eye coordination, as well as quick hands and feet- Has excellent stamina and physical conditioning- Plays strategically at game speed- Player is able to sustain long rallies of varied pace against other Advanced players- Consistently hits forehand and backhand with depth and control- Consistently places serves/returns with varying depth and control- Consistently attempts and is mostly successful at drop shots- Consistently able to volley a variety of shots at different speeds. - Understands the block/reset volley and often can convert hard shots to soft shots- Sustains a dink exchange with patience to elicit a "put away"{ shot- Focuses on keeping opponents back- Knows partner's position and able to move as a team, can switch, has good communication.- Consistently executes overheads and has proper technique- Able to control the no volley zone.The Jabish Brook outdoor pickleball courts are located at 61 Springfield Rd.The Chestnut Hill outdoor pickleball courts are located at 59 State St.Court schedules will be posted soon.Please view the video below to be familiar with how the system works. Click Here for Pickleball Paddle Play Organizer VideoSKILLS & DRILLS Intermediate playersIn this extended clinic (2.0 hours) with a small class.
